The leader of the MMM was in front of the press this morning. Only one subject was on the program. He gave a lengthy presentation on South Africa’s Public Protector Act. This law recommends the creation of a Public Protector. Paul Bérenger declared that the MMM energetically opposes the Financial Crime Commission project which, according to him, consists of drowning ICAC in other institutions. For him, we must put an end to the organization located at Réduit Triangle and replace it with the Public Protector which will include the Ombudsman’s office…
Paul Bérenger also asked all Mauritians, particularly young people and political groups, to study the South African Constitution and constitutional court. He emphasized the fact that our Constitution deserves to be reviewed because it has weaknesses and that a constitutional court is necessary.
