In a porn racket case, the Bombay High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of model turned actress Gehana Vasisth. Gehana will now move to Supreme Court in the matter as said by her lawyer. Gehana’s lawyer argued that, “The web series was shot in a room with 10-20 people. The complainant herself promoted the series. Police are hand in gloves; they want to pressure you to give names of some big fish and then you will be released.” In the case related to the creation and distribution of pornographic content involving businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra one of the directors of his company, Abhijit Bhomble was arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch Property Cell last month. According to reports, an actress had filed a case against four individuals from Raj Kundra’s company. Along with Abhijit Bhomble, actress Gehana Vashisth, Prince Kashyap and Ajay Srimant have been named as accused in the pornography case. Gehana was named in the FIR for forcing the complainant to act in a pornography video. Amidst various allegations, actress Gehana has since the beginning defended Raj Kundra. Gehana, who is currently out on bail, was summoned by the police for interrogation related to Kundra’s case. She has been booked under Sections 354-C (outraging modesty of woman), 292 and 293 (sale of obscene material) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Sections 66E, 67, 67A (transmission of sexually explicit material) of the Information Technology Act, and provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Meanwhile, last month also, in regards to the FIR filed against her at Malvani Police station, a Mumbai sessions court had rejected Gehana’s anticipatory bail application. The FIR was then transferred to Mumbai Crime Branch. Gehana had been previously arrested in the porn racket case on February 7, 2021.
